We visited the parks north of Knoxville up to Jellico and west. Another great ride on some new and interesting roads. Parks visited were - Frozen head, Indian Mountain, Cove Lake, Norris Dam and Big Ridge. 264 miles total - day trip. Other Riders:Dennis and Diana, John and Gail. Shakedown trip for the Victory. 44 parks to go!
The route as Ridden, including my wrong turns!
This is one of our favorite state parks. It always seems to be peaceful and quiet when we've been here, and rarely crowded.
Howling camera group shot -Dennis, Diana, Gail, John, Susan & me at Frozen head
Taking a break at Indian Mountain.
Last time we camped here in about 1976. I rode in a Hare and Hound race at Royal Blue the next day.
And of course, the group shot.

There are two separate sections to this park, this is the west section. The east section is on the other side of Norris lake at the dam.
Riding "assistants" assemble for a group shot.

Griss Mill at the Lenoir Museum, Norris.
Last stop - Big Ridge.

A parting shot of the Cumberlands and Due North group.
This was a nice place to stop. We took a break down by the lake and out of the heat in preparation for the last leg of this trip. Highway 61 (heading east in background) proved to be one of the most interesting roads on the trip with several 10 mph switchbacks.
At Indian Mountain. This was our first time at this park. Located right on the city limits of Jellico it seems to be a pretty nice park. Interestingly, the park ranger that we talked to had ridden his Road King to all 53 Tennessee state parks several years ago...and I thought I had an original idea!
Group shot at -where else - Indian Mountain. On to lunch break in Jellico at El Dorados.
